Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manager, Senior Compliance Counsel, with compliance projects, program updates, and general legal assistance.
  • The candidate must maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory compliance and enforcement developments.
  • The candidate will interpret laws in the context of the company’s activities.
  • The candidate will support compliance-related litigation by providing research and internal case management tracking.
  • The candidate will provide compliance-related legal guidance regarding products, services, new initiatives, complaints, and issue resolution.
  • The candidate will support the development, implementation, and oversight of lululemon’s regulatory compliance program, including third-party risk management and enterprise-wide regulatory projects.
  • The candidate will monitor regulatory changes, analyze their impact, and oversee timely business implementation of required changes.
  • The candidate will conduct research and contribute to emerging regulatory compliance projects.
  • The candidate will advise internal business units on compliance and regulatory issues.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must possess an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification and a J.D. from an accredited institution.
  • The candidate must hold admission to the bar and possess the ability to practice law in a Canadian jurisdiction.
  • The candidate must have 3 to 5 years of compliance experience, with global, retail, and/or litigation experience considered an asset.
  • The candidate should have experience supporting or implementing compliance programs.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the proven ability to interpret and provide guidance on laws, rules, and regulations.
  • The candidate must have the ability to translate complex compliance matters into easily understandable requirements or guidance.
  • The candidate should have experience in sustainability, anti-bribery and anti-corruption law, global trade compliance issues, and other supply chain-related subjects.
  • The candidate must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working effectively within a team environment.
  • The candidate must have experience balancing multiple competing priorities and adapting to changes in scope and direction.
  • The candidate must be self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • The candidate must possess exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • The candidate must acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for their actions and decisions.

Work conditions

  • The candidate will be required to participate in in-person collaboration and office-based work as an essential part of the role.
  • The candidate must work mainly onsite for 4 to 5 days per week, depending on the requirements of the position.
