Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing inventory materials.
- The candidate will be responsible for picking and staging inventory items to fulfill customer and departmental requests.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and processing daily transactions using computerized inventory systems.
- The candidate will be responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering inventory items to civic facilities.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have sound working knowledge of storekeeping methods and procedures.
- The candidate must have sound knowledge of the various types and uses of supplies, tools, and equipment used in municipal operations.
- The candidate must have working knowledge of WHMIS regulations related to the work performed.
- The candidate must be able to issue and receive supplies and complete related clerical recordkeeping tasks manually or using a computer terminal.
- The candidate must be able to safely operate a forklift.
- The candidate must be able to perform manual work and lift, move, and carry heavy items.
- The candidate must be able to perform routine clerical tasks related to the work with minimal supervision.
- The candidate must maintain effective working relationships with other employees and external contacts.
- The candidate must be able to operate common office equipment.
- The candidate must hold a valid Driver’s License issued by the Province of British Columbia.
- The candidate must possess a Counterbalanced / Vertical Mast Forklift Operator Certification.
- The candidate will be preferred if they have knowledge of City facilities and facilities inventory requirements.
- Preference will be given to candidates with training in inventory control, inventory operations, computer usage, and experience working in municipal Stores or a comparable combination of education and experience.
