Apprentice truck and coach technician

The City of Ottawa has released a notification in which they’re inviting candidates for the post of apprentice truck and coach technician. At this post, candidates will have to report to a Superintendent, Maintenance Services for work proceedings. They are responsible to develop job skills to the journeyperson level as an apprentice Truck and Coach Technician. Registration for this post has already started and it will end soon.

Job Description

Candidates will have to work under the guidance and direction of more experienced workers in the trade.
They’re also appointed to develop and apply learned job skills through a combination of on-the-job learning and in-class instruction.
Apprentices shall be trained in accordance with the prescribed apprenticeship program of the Ministry of Labour.
Candidates will learn and apply skills to perform a wide range of duties of the trade.

Job requirement

Candidates must attain previous experience in motor vehicle repair as an asset.
They must attain previous experience in automotive garage work as an asset.
They must attain the knowledge of standard methods, tools, and equipment used in the automotive mechanic trade.
Candidates must be able to learn new skills in a timely manner.
They must obtain the skills to operate within a computerized Fleet Management Information System.

Work setting

At least 1 years of wiring experience in mechanical or machine work proceeds are required for being eligible for this post.
