Apprentice Collision Technician

Apprentice Collision Technician helps with the repair of Tesla vehicles. They help with structural and cosmetic collision repairs while also picking up Tesla repair methods and standards. This role sits within the Collision Repair team and in general supports keeping vehicles on track to come back to customers with solid, well done repairs.

You’ll work alongside seasoned technicians to fix vehicle panels, swap out damaged parts and handle specialized equipment plus specific repair procedures. It’s a great fit for someone who prefers automotive tasks, gets along well with others and is genuinely keen on learning the newest electric vehicle repair technology.

Job Description

  • Apprentice Collision Technician is a full time position that supports collision repairs on Tesla vehicles in a team based repair centre.
  • The role focuses on restoring vehicles using Tesla approved repair methods and modern electric vehicle technology.
  • Work takes place in a professional repair setting with guidance from skilled technicians and ongoing learning.
  • The position includes structural and cosmetic vehicle repairs as part of the Tesla Collision Repair Program.
  • You will support quality repair work and help keep vehicles moving through the repair process.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Tesla repair standards and work closely with the collision repair team
  • Use Celette frame jigs to position and install structural components
  • Glue, rivet and weld replacement structural parts
  • Repair exterior body panels using metal finishing and body filler techniques
  • Replace damaged body panels, suspension components, vehicle structure, radiators, airbags and trim parts
  • Maintain a clean and managed work area while following repair documentation
  • Support the team in completing repairs within quality and scheduling expectations

Requirements

  • 2+ years of career background as an automotive collision repair technician
  • Ability to read and understand automotive repair procedures
  • Comfortable learning new technologies and software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team oriented approach with a positive attitude
  • Ability to keep work areas clean and well managed
  • Class 5, G or G2 driver’s licence in Canada
