Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for performing contract and task management duties, including providing direction on contractual matters, discussing, clarifying, and following up on commercial, technical, and legal concerns with project team members, preparing monitoring plans, assigning responsibility for verifying, expediting, and approving production schedules, drawings, instruction manuals, shipping reports, manufacturing timelines, testing, acceptance, and delivery of materials and vendor performance, following up to adjust schedules and performance expectations, and preparing purchase requisitions.
  • The candidate will be required to coordinate expediting of work by engaging with vendors to ensure work progress aligns with schedule, quality, and cost factors, preparing and negotiating contract change orders, administering contract payments through invoice review and documentation checks, preparing and approving payment certificates within assigned authority, managing holdback release payments and tax assignments, initiating work orders, preparing invoice requisitions for recovery of back charges due to contract deficiencies, and issuing Local Purchase Orders.
  • The candidate will be required to manage warranty claims for equipment or systems that fail within the warranty period by enforcing contract provisions, negotiating settlements, establishing legal positions, ensuring work completion, and resolving contract termination issues through alternative resources.
  • The candidate will provide contract administration services for the tendering of supply, supply and install, and consulting services contracts by preparing tender documents covering commercial terms and technical specifications, reviewing technical specifications to ensure integration of commercial and technical requirements for effective evaluation and post-award management, preparing Q&A documents and tender addendums during the tender process, analyzing tenders for deliverables and commercial feasibility, preparing tender evaluation reports with award recommendations, and approving awards within assigned signing authority.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing technical direction and guidance to the Contracts Clerk Leader and Contracts Clerk 4 and performing some of the same duties.
  • The candidate will perform minor duties related to the above responsibilities that do not affect the rating of the job.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have completed a National Diploma from an Institute of Technology in Business Administration, Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of eight years of experience in electrical utility design or supply chain functions.
