Job description

  • All candidates will be responsible for individuals who will play a major role in providing for animal health, welfare.
  • Applicants have to ensure the successful incumbent ensures the highest quality of laboratory animal care.
  • They are responsible for work that is very repetitive and physical, including lifting up to 25 kgs.
  • They research improving methods of animal husbandry and resource utilization.

Job requirement

  • They are also requested to have the ability to work weekends, evenings and statutory holidays.
  • Candidates must hold high school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • They also must have experience in working with small animals in a research capacity. 
  • All candidates must have the ability to be thorough, accurate, and have a high level of attention to detail.

Work setting

  • They are also required to have work that may involve the use of potentially hazardous material or may be located in areas where such materials are used. 
  • Candidates must hold a work schedule that will include evenings, weekends and statutory holidays. 
  • All candidates must have a position and will be expected to work independently with supervisory support available.
