Job Description
- Candidates working at this post are appointed for reporting to the Supervisor, Surface Structures of the Hay River Airport.
- Candidates are also appointed for clearing and maintaining runways, taxiways, aprons and roadways, drainage systems and security fencing, which contributes to the safe passage of the traveling public.
- They’re also appointed to ensure the airport facilities are in place to meet the demand of the air industry, and that those airports are operated according to federal regulations and standards.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have knowledge of airport operations and procedures for maintenance of airport facilities, such as snow and ice control.
- They must be familiar with the Airport Maintenance Management System to record time and material expended on various tasks to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must be skilled and proficient in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have organizational and communications skills to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must be able to prioritize work and work independently to be eligible for this post.
- They must ensure the ability to commit to actively upholding and consistently practicing personal diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates must have 3 years directly related experience as an equipment operator in a maintenance program which is municipal, highway, airport, and others to be eligible for this post.
