Job Description

  • The candidate must interpret welding process specifications.
  • The candidate must be able to use manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment.
  • The candidate must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
  • The candidate will be expected to examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • The candidate must be able to operate either manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
  • The candidate must be able to operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
  • The candidate must be able to use oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air) (AOC).
  • The candidate must be able to operate previously set-up welding machines in order to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • The candidate will be expected to maintain and repair welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate should have minimum qualification of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be certified by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA).
  • The candidate must be able to lift weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty and hot conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

  • The candidate must work in the Industrial and Manufacturing industries.

Experience and specialization

Type of materials

  • Materials include aluminium alloys, composite materials, stainless steel, steel, iron, and heavy metals.

Welding techniques

  • Welding techniques include resistance, spot, or seam welding, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW).

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with a Spot welding machine.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be skilled in custom fabrication and factory assembly.

Own tools/equipment

  • The candidate must have their own steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and welding helmet.
