The shift times for this position are Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend, On-call and Overtime.

Job Description
- The candidate must respond to customer complaints or concerns.
- The candidate will be responsible for coaching colleagues on new methods or work techniques.
- The candidate must have mountain driving experience.
- The candidate must maintain professionalism in customer service.
- The candidate must drive lighter, special-purpose trucks.
- The candidate must load and unload goods.
- The candidate must obtain special permits and other documents required for international cargo transport.
- The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.
- The candidate must perform brake adjustments.
- The candidate must be able to perform emergency roadside repairs.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all vehicle aspects.
- The candidate must perform preventive maintenance.
- The candidate will be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
- The candidate will be responsible for recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- The candidate will be responsible for tarping and ensuring cargo safety and security.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must have Air Brakes Endorsement Certification, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than three axles), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Certification, CPR Certificate, Defensive Driving Course Certification, Driver’s License (Class 1 or A), Driver’s License (Class 3 or D), First Aid Certificate, Forklift Operator Certification, Pro-Trucker/Smart Driver (fuel efficiency) Training Certification, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Documentation knowledge
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about accident or incident reports, dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip), maintenance and repair reports and trip reports.
Type of trucking and equipment
- The candidate must have experience operating extended-length tractor-trailer combinations, logging trucks for highway use, and tow trucks.
Communication systems experience
- The candidate must have experience operating GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, as well as trip recorders (on-board computers).
Transportation/travel experience
- The candidate must have transportation and travel experience at the local and provincial/territorial levels.
- The candidate must have short-haul travel experience.
Specialization or experience
- The candidate must have specialization or experience in the green economy sector.
- The candidate must have specialized environmental skills and knowledge.
Additional information
Security and safety
- The candidate must undergo a basic security clearance, criminal record check, driver’s license validity check, driving record check (abstract), and drug test.
