Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for supervising staff of up to 10 full-time equivalents (FTEs), including assigning work, developing and evaluating performance plans, and approving leave requests.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing guidance to staff on the interpretation of Acts, regulations, standards, and procedures.
- The candidate will be responsible for managing the intake system, including waitlist management, and coordinating service delivery through referrals and integrated case management with other social programs and community services.
- The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of mental health programs and policies at the local level.
- The candidate will be responsible for conducting clinical audits of the team’s clinical records and case reviews.
- The candidate will be responsible for functioning as the primary therapist for a small number of severe and complex cases.
- The candidate will be responsible for participating in the planning, delivery, and assessment of community mental health education and prevention activities for agencies, service providers, and related groups.
- The candidate will be responsible for developing performance measures and maintaining systems for management reporting.
- The candidate will be responsible for managing contracts requiring subject matter expertise and verifying satisfactory performance results before authorizing payment.
- The candidate will be responsible for managing the local area budget and allocating and monitoring the effective use of resources.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work (Clinical Specialty or equivalent training/education), Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or an equivalent field.
- The candidate must obtain an equivalency assessment through International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES) for education completed outside Canada and provide a basic report by the closing date of the posting.
- The candidate must possess experience in the provision of mental health services to children, youth, and their families.
- The candidate must possess experience supervising staff.
- The candidate must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence with no restriction or an equivalent licence from another Canadian province.
- Candidates with three (3) or more years of experience delivering mental health services to children, youth, and their families are preferred.
- Candidates with six (6) or more months of supervisory leadership experience are preferred.
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit and meet the required education and experience qualifications are preferred.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.
