Job Description

  • Candidates accountable at this post are required to provide detailed terms of reference for external traffic impact studies working at this post.
  • They’re also accountable for providing transportation input into the preparation of the capital programming, project planning and preliminary design for the Major Roads and Intersection Improvement programs working at this post.
  • Candidates interested in this post are appointed to represent the Transportation Infrastructure Management section during internal and external land development meetings, including meetings with developers and their consultants working at this post.
  • They’re also appointed at this post to respond to requests from members of the Council, internal and external clients and the general public on transportation and traffic planning-related issues working at this post.

Job requirement

  • Candidates must attain a post-secondary graduate from a recognized university with a degree in Civil, Transportation or a related engineering program to be eligible for this post.
  • Applicants must have completed 3-5 years of direct municipal experience in the traffic/transportation planning field to be eligible for this post.
  • Applicants must have a good understanding of the municipal planning process, engineering standards, and field-related resource materials like ITE, HCM, OTM and TAC manuals working at this post.
  • They must attain the ability to represent the Transportation Infrastructure Management section at public and community meetings to get preferred for this post.

Work setting

  • They must attain good working knowledge of standard computer software like Word, Excel, and Outlook to be eligible for this post.
  • Applicants must be able to provide their transportation options to attend off-site meetings at various locations within the City of Mississauga to be eligible for this post.
