Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for managing a major retail operation with annual sales exceeding $5 million while reporting to the Regional Manager.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and direction while controlling costs and maximizing revenue.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining positive customer relations and supervising store staff.
  • The candidate will be responsible for developing teamwork and maintaining positive staff morale.
  • The candidate will be responsible for controlling employment costs and analyzing and producing reports.
  • The candidate will be responsible for controlling stock levels and monitoring stock variance.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring acceptable levels of security for staff and physical assets within the store.
  • The candidate will be expected to contribute to improving the Branch image by supporting all Branch policies.
  • The candidate will be responsible for the hiring, training, and development of staff.
  • The candidate will be responsible for scheduling staff assignments and managing labour relations matters.
  • The candidate performs administrative and clerical duties in support of daily operations.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate will be required to hold a Secondary (high) school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as an Assistant Manager or Supervisor in a customer-facing service environment.
  • The candidate will be expected to demonstrate responsibility for delivering and improving sales outcomes.
  • Candidates with experience working in a retail environment are preferred.
  • Candidates with experience managing an environment with an annual sales volume of over $1 million are preferred.
  • Candidates with experience working with KPIs and visual presentation standards are preferred.
  • Candidates with a degree, diploma, or certificate in business or retail management, or successful completion of a supervisory or leadership course, are preferred.
  • The candidate must have successfully completed the Serving It Rightโ„ข certificate.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate must be able to perform duties in office, retail, and warehouse environments.
  • The candidate must respond appropriately and safely to potentially dangerous or violent situations as they arise.
  • The candidate must be available to work all shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, as required.
  • The candidate will be required to lift liquor cases of up to 50 lbs. to different heights.
  • The candidate will be required to operate various types of mechanical and hand-operated equipment.
