Job Description
- The candidate must have experience in speech writing and preparing written materials for senior leaders.
- The candidate will develop earned media strategies and products and coordinate and execute media announcements and events.
- The candidate will provide support for media enquiries, including acting as a spokesperson when required.
- The candidate will create, manage, edit, and implement communications strategies and products for corporate initiatives and issues.
- The candidate will act as the lead and central point of contact for specific business areas and issues files.
- The candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure communications strategies remain consistent across the organization.
- The candidate will monitor current events and industry news and anticipate potential impacts on the organization.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have at least five years of related experience, preferably in corporate communications, public relations, or journalism.
- The candidate should hold a post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline.
- The candidate must possess exceptional writing skills and the ability to break down complex information into engaging and easy-to-understand content.
- The candidate must be able to work under pressure and excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- The candidate must have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- The candidate must have experience advising others, including senior leaders, on media strategy and issues management.
- The candidate must be capable of managing sensitive material in a professional and responsible manner.
- The candidate must possess strong organizational and research skills.
- The candidate must maintain a valid Class 5 Driver’s License in good standing as a condition of employment.
- The candidate should possess proficiency in a second language, which will be considered an asset.
