Job Description
- The candidate will be required to work closely with children, families, and other professionals while providing case management assistance to Ministry child protection workers.
- The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the conducting of child abuse and neglect investigations.
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting youth-in-care (YIC).
- The candidate will be required to maintain tracking systems, documentation, and referral processes.
Job Requirements
- The candidate will be required to have completed Secondary School Graduation or an equivalent qualification.
- The candidate must have two years of post-secondary studies toward a degree, diploma, or certificate in a related human services field or equivalent discipline (including Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology, and Nursing) plus a minimum of one year of related work experience.
- The candidate must have one year of post-secondary studies toward a degree, diploma, or certificate in a related human services field or equivalent discipline, (Human Services fields or equivalent include Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology and Nursing) plus a minimum of two years of related work experience.
- The candidate must have a minimum of three years or more of related work experience.
- A combination of relevant education and experience may be accepted for this position.
- The candidate will be required to hold and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with no restrictions or an equivalent from another province in Canada.
- The candidate may be preferred if their education and experience were completed within the past five years.
- Candidates with post-secondary education in human services or a related discipline may be preferred.
- Candidates with experience using Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS) computer systems may be given preference.
- Candidates who self-identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit and meet the qualifications may be given preference.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.
