Job Description

  • The candidate must measure and mark sheet metal in accordance with the template.
  • The candidate must cut materials by hand or with power tools.
  • The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
  • The candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
  • The candidate will be responsible for fitting and joining sheet metal parts.
  • The candidate must install sheet metal products in accordance with specifications and building codes.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate and have completed the Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate must be well-organized.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate should be reliable.

Work site environment

  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

  • Job responsibilities include installation, repair, on-site fabrication, and retrofitting.

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about copper or metal roofs, custom sheet metal items, and eavestroughing and flashing.
