Job Description
- The candidate must prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables.
- The candidate must present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques, or room billings.
- The candidate must describe menu items, including daily specials, to customers.
- The candidate must advise customers on menu selections.
- The candidate must clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
- The candidate must greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
- The candidate must serve food and beverages.
- The candidate must take orders and relay them to kitchen and bar staff.
- The candidate must provide excellent customer service.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate must hold a certificate of secondary (high) school graduation or possess equivalent experience.
- A candidate with experience is an asset.
- The candidate must have no supervision responsibility.
- The candidate must have a Food and Beverage Server trade certificate, Smart Serve certification, Customer Service Excellence Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Food Safety Certificate, Safe Food Handling Certificate, Serving It Safe program certification, and First Aid Certificate.
- The candidate must be able to handle weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
- The candidate should be client-focused.
- The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
- The candidate should be organized and flexible.
- The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
- The candidate should be reliable.
