Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for developing and commercializing fabrics that meet technical and quality standards while supporting guest satisfaction and business goals.
- The candidate will be responsible for delivering seasonal innovative performance fabrics on time and at optimal value while supporting technical and sourcing strategies.
- The candidate will be responsible for modeling ongoing self-development to the team and ensuring fabric technical skills are developed and optimized to provide a better understanding of the fabrics used.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining current knowledge of vendors and industry developments to deliver fabric technical innovation opportunities that set lululemon apart from its competitors.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise to design and garment technical teams on fabric construction, innovation, and vendor capabilities.
- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring understanding and compliance with company and departmental policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must hold a university or college degree in Textile Science.
- Candidates without a formal degree will be considered if they demonstrate substantial industry experience and strong technical expertise in raw materials.
- The candidate must possess 10+ years of textile industry experience with strong working knowledge of industry practices and processes.
- The candidate must demonstrate experience traveling and working with suppliers outside of North America, preferably within Asia.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong knowledge of fabric development techniques, processes, equipment, and timelines.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong technical knowledge gained in a manufacturing environment across all areas of textiles, including fibers, yarn, material construction, finishes, and printing.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong knowledge of industry testing standards and test report analysis.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong knowledge of cross-functional team accountabilities and requirements, including design, sourcing, merchandising, quality assurance, and calendar management.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic workflow.
- The candidate must acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for their actions and decisions.
