Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for leading the development of training programs that meet specific learning needs and align with organizational goals and requirements.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, negotiating, organizing, monitoring, and evaluating training project activities, including preparing project charters, plans, and status reports.
  • The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily work activities of the assigned team, including monitoring progress, setting priorities, and providing work direction.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing quality assurance to ensure compliance with instructional design best practices, quality standards, ethical and legal regulations, and organizational policies and guidelines.
  • The candidate must work with internal stakeholders to establish and maintain effective training services.
  • The candidate will be responsible for consistently modeling organizational behaviours expected of all WorkSafeBC employees, including being responsive, respectful, fair, collaborative, accountable, and forward thinking.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must be a senior instructional designer capable of using systematic methodology and adult education principles to develop programs and provide quality oversight to the design team.
  • The candidate must be an experienced project manager adept at assessing, planning, negotiating, organizing, monitoring, and evaluating project-related activities in a technical or business setting.
  • The candidate must be able to effectively lead and motivate a team to achieve goals and meet tight deadlines.
  • The candidate must be client-focused and able to develop strong relationships with internal customers.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of six years of directly related experience in developing job-specific adult education programs using advanced instructional design and learning technologies, including training, instructional design project management, and performance support projects.
  • The candidate must hold a degree in adult education, instructional systems design, educational technology, human performance technology, or leadership and training.
  • The candidate must have experience in leading teams.
  • The candidate will be required to confirm legal eligibility to work in Canada.
