Job Description
- The candidate will be required to apply technical pattern engineering expertise to develop apparel prototypes focused on fit, performance, functionality, and innovation.
- The candidate must lead the pattern development process through both digital and hands-on methods to support decision-making throughout the innovation creation process while ensuring performance, fit, function, and aesthetic intent are maintained through final product delivery.
- The candidate must identify and provide innovative construction and fit solutions for athletes across different activities.
- The candidate must work cross-functionally with Elite Athlete Performance teams including Design, Research, Athlete Testing, Raw Materials, and Sports Marketing to develop and evolve product concepts while pushing innovation forward.
- The candidate must work closely with Elite Athlete Performance designers and concept creators to engineer and draft patterns using digital tools that deliver advanced constructions and unique brand propositions.
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting teammate development through knowledge sharing and guidance.
- The candidate will be responsible for creating a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing across the team.
- The candidate must work alongside cross-functional teams within Product Innovation, including Design, Concept Creation, Pattern Engineering, Research, and Labs, to ensure seamless integration of new ideas into the product pipeline.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have a deep passion for developing innovative, performance-driven, and function-focused apparel that enhances the on-body experience for elite athletes.
- The candidate must possess comprehensive knowledge of pattern engineering, fit, and construction with a strong understanding of the athletics market and culture.
- The candidate will be required to demonstrate advanced knowledge of performance apparel construction, trims, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- The candidate must demonstrate a collaborative mindset and willingness to work across teams to bring ideas to life.
- The candidate must have experience leading the pattern engineering process from concept through final product delivery, including fittings and wear-testing.
- The candidate must have strong communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- The candidate must demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing to support overall team growth.
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Pattern Engineering or possess equivalent industry experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
- The candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the performance apparel industry.
- The candidate must possess strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to interact with and update leadership teams effectively.
- The candidate must have expert knowledge of Gerber Pattern Making and/or 3D software such as CLO or Browzwear, along with product creation tools and materials expertise.
- The candidate must have a proficient understanding of athlete product testing best practices, product planning, logistics, and process planning, along with strong communication skills.
- The candidate will be required to adapt quickly to changing business needs while maintaining product excellence.
- The candidate must have an in-depth understanding of GTM calendar dates and gates, with the ability to adjust project plans based on compressed timelines, athlete needs, and business requirements.
- The candidate must acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for their actions and decisions.
