Job Description

  • The candidate will lead and inspire the Advanced Concepts (AC) Concept Creation team within Product Innovation, setting vision, goals, and clear processes to transform ideas into execution.
  • The candidate must have expertise in apparel innovation creation, planning, and best practices that drive breakthrough products across performance categories tailored to guests and athletes, with strong attention to detail and close collaboration on product construction, performance, fit, and aesthetic, leveraging internal sampling teams and innovation factory partners.
  • The candidate will lead the planning and detailed sequencing of activities that drive decision-making throughout the innovation process, from ideation to final product delivery, ensuring performance, fit, function, and aesthetic intent are maintained without compromise.
  • The candidate will develop and test new product creation processes that strengthen team capabilities and ensure the organization stays ahead in performance design and product development.
  • The candidate will shape and define the Concept Creation strategy for Advanced Concepts, driving the development of high-performance apparel that reflects the brand ethos and pushes design boundaries.
  • The candidate will take apparel concepts from design inception through execution, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and style for athletes on the global stage.
  • The candidate will identify and provide innovative construction and fit solutions while delivering high-quality products that help guests and athletes reach their full potential.
  • The candidate will work cross-functionally with Design, Research, Labs, and Raw Materials teams to ideate, refine, and evolve product concepts while continuously pushing design boundaries.
  • The candidate will foster a culture of creativity and growth, guiding the team to strengthen both their craft and leadership capabilities while building a stronger business within their area of expertise.
  • The selected candidate must drive new ways of working and implement end-to-end digital processes that foster exploration and innovation across the team.
  • The selected candidate must lead the integration of AI within product creation, combining technology and creative design to develop next-generation performance apparel.
  • The candidate must develop short- and long-term strategies that align with team objectives and keep lululemon at the cutting edge of performance apparel innovation.
  • The selected candidate must communicate vision and progress to senior leaders, including executives and presidents, ensuring alignment with overall brand objectives.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Product Design, Product Development, or a related field.
  • Candidates with an advanced degree or equivalent experience will be considered.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 8+ years of experience in the performance apparel industry.
  • The candidate must have strong communication and influencing skills, including experience interacting with leaders and providing status updates to ensure alignment.
  • The candidate must have expert knowledge of apparel and sports bra design, construction, and manufacturing.
  • The candidate must have a strong understanding of elite athlete product needs, apparel design, construction, and product creation best practices, along with experience managing development timelines and clear communication skills.
  • The candidate must have strong athlete communication skills and the ability to engage key internal stakeholders and partners.
  • The candidate must be able to adapt to changing circumstances while ensuring product creation excellence.
  • The candidate must have an in-depth understanding of the innovation creation calendar, including key dates and gates, with the ability to adjust direction based on compressed timelines and athlete or business needs.
  • The candidate must have hands-on making experience.
  • The candidate must have product development or technical development experience.
  • The candidate must have experience in consumer and athlete insights.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Gerber, Browzwear, CLO3D, AI tools, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Apple Keynote.
  • The candidate must have a passion for pushing the boundaries of product creation and delivering world-class performance apparel.
  • The candidate must have proven experience leading high-performance teams and driving innovation in product creation.
  • The candidate must have expertise in product creation and GTM processes, with a forward-thinking approach to global product delivery.
  • The candidate must have a deep understanding of athlete and guest needs and a commitment to enhancing performance through apparel.
  • The candidate must have exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • The candidate must have experience in stakeholder management and the ability to align expectations cross-functionally within Product Innovation and with Mainline partners.
  • The candidate must acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for their actions and decisions.

Work conditions
