Job description

  • Provide senior level guidance about labor relations matters together with collective agreement negotiations and employment law requirements.
  • Handle all aspects of grievance management which includes conducting investigations and hearings and arbitration processes.
  • Perform research activities and data analysis work to support collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Provide mentoring to consultants and support staff members while maintaining service quality standards.
  • Represent the division in committees, task forces and labour related matters
  • Develop training materials and deliver labour relations training
  • Support policy development and compliance with employment laws
  • Prepare documentation and reports for labour relations cases
  • Collaborate with management, legal teams and union representatives

Job requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field with CHRP, MIR, JD or LLB or equivalent combination of education and relevant background
  • Strong background in labour relations including grievances, negotiations and dispute resolution
  • Strong knowledge of collective agreement interpretation and administration
  • Has dealt with employment legislation such as Labour Relations Act, Human
  • Rights Code and Employment Standards Act
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Strong interaction skills with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
