Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for collecting and harvesting orchard cones with the use of orchard ladders and lifts.
- The candidate will be responsible for pruning orchard trees with the use of orchard ladders and lifting equipment.
- The candidate will use a variety of tools, including but not limited to hand tools and power tools.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must be physically fit and able to lift supplies weighing up to 25 kg over a distance of 30 metres, including bags of fertilizer and cone buckets, and regularly operate equipment such as orchard lifts, pruners, weed eaters, and mowers.
- The candidate must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold winter weather, work around potential allergens such as pollen, grass, insects, chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, and safely work at heights of up to 5 metres using ladders and lifts.
- The candidate must be at least 16 years of age.
- Preference may be given to applicants with manual labour or outdoor work experience.
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience working with plants, including tree planting, gardening, landscaping, orchard work, cone picking, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.
