Job Description

  • This role acts as the architecture subject matter expert (SME) responsible for the design of intricate security initiatives within the Technology & Operations platform of Royal Bank of Canada.
  • Provides technical depth in a wide range of security areas and helps to come up with well-structured solution designs that are secure.
  • Engages with different stakeholders in a manner that Security Solutions Architecture is communicated and represented, through the decision-making process.
  • Availability of a supportive, friendly work culture and a 37.5-hours per week schedule with strong organizational support.
  • Monitors the development of security features across the solutions while also making an impact on the strategic directions of the technical decisions.
  • Works in a high-performance environment at 16 York St., Toronto, which is part of Royal Bank of Canada’s broader innovation target.

Responsibilities

  • Architects and engineers with the help of designs security solutions that are very sophisticated and cover on-prem as well as multi/hybrid cloud environments.
  • Syntactic partners with technical teams to make sure security architecture requirements are taken into consideration in project planning.
  • Provides thought leadership and guidance on security matters and new technologies coming up.
  • Renders management and project teams support in architecture-led best practices by communicating risks to them.
  • Advises on next-generation capabilities and conceptual architectures by being up to date with security trends.
  • Holds the position of global stakeholders’ manager, business developer supporter, and operational risk problems’ solver.
  • Creates trustworthy and pleasant communications with project teams, business partners, and suppliers.
  • Acts as a trustworthy partner and walks along with the projects to ensure their alignment with functional strategies and goals.

Requirement

  • Experience that covers different security areas such as network, cloud, endpoint, and application security.
  • Excellent comprehension of modern concepts such as Zero Trust, SASE, micro-segmentation, and cloud security.
  • Working with AI and machine learning–based security solutions is a plus.
  • Partnering with different stakeholders, showing apt communication, negotiation, and advisory skills is a must.
  • Experience in business case work and familiarity with project management principles are necessary.
  • Ability to collect and convey both business and technical requirements is an asset.
  • Safety architecture principles are a plus, along with the capacity to sway key decision-makers.
