Job description
- Provide nursing care and update resident care plans
- Monitor health conditions and report changes
- Administer medications, treatments and insulin
- Perform wound care and first aid when required
- Support residents with daily personal care needs
- Assist with meals and mobility and rehabilitation activities
- Maintain accurate charts, records and reports
- Coordinate appointments and follow up on medical results
- Support residents and families with care planning
- Guide and support care staff and new team members
- Ensure proper handling of medications and supplies
Job requirements
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Background working as an RPN in community or healthcare settings including elderly care
- Background in acute care, rehabilitation, mental health or long-term care
- Knowledge of Long-Term Care Homes
- Act and related regulations
- Ability to complete RAI-MDS certification as required
- Ability to obtain Basic Cardiac Life
- Support certification
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Ability to use electronic documentation systems
- The candidate shows readiness to fulfill all police checks and health screening and vaccination requirements.
