Job Description
- Candidates working at this post are appointed to assist patients at the counter, receive written prescriptions for Pharmacists, and retrieve filled prescriptions.
- They’re also appointed to process register transactions and receive payment, make changes, and process checks, and credit and debit charges.
- Candidates are appointed to provide prompt and courteous patient services.
- They’re also required to answer phones and direct members to product locations.
- Candidates are appointed to obtain patient medical history maintain confidential computer records, and assist pharmacists in updating patient profiles and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer to the extent permitted by provincial regulations.
- They’re appointed to complete packaging verification for prescriptions previously checked for therapeutic appropriateness by the pharmacist to the extent permitted by provincial regulations
- Candidates are appointed to alert pharmacists to drug interactions in prescription and over-the-counter medications.
- They’re required at this post to verify prescriptions and refills with physicians by phone as needed and take verbal prescriptions to the extent permitted by provincial regulations.
- Candidates are also appointed to prepare third-party insurance claims, process invoices, and make accounting entries using a computerized system.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have completed provincial Pharmacy Technician certification or Completed a Pharmacy Technician course at a Community College and the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada Qualifying exam.
- They must be licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing in the province of work.
- Candidates must have dedicated current Costco Pharmacy experience and will be given preference over other candidates.
- They must have dedicated computer, math, and member service skills to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates must assist in other areas of the warehouse to be eligible for this post.
