Job description
- Candidates will create access to safe, sustainable and person-centred midwifery care.
- They will be responsible for providing care that addresses the social determinants of health.
- They will ensure consistent and high-quality culturally safe, relationship-based midwifery services.
- They will contribute to the achievement of optimal maternal and child health outcomes for pregnant Yukoners in their care.
- They will be responsible for maintaining a practice environment that is inclusive, non-discriminatory, and culturally safe.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have Bachelor Degree in Midwifery.
- They must have assessment through a Prior Learning Experience Assessment (PLEA) program.
- They must have applied knowledge of evidence-based midwifery theory, practices, techniques, and risk management.
- They must have current registration in good standing as a Registered Midwife.
Work setting
- Candidates must have demonstrated ability to meet Yukon Midwifery Licensing requirements.
- They must have demonstrated Northern, remote or rural experience.
