Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for serving as the first point of contact for customer service within the facility.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing customer service to visitors and external agencies and supplying information regarding facility programs and services.
  • The candidate will be responsible for processing customer registrations and membership sales while providing information on facilities, programs, and services and assisting users with online services.
  • The candidate will be required to receive payments for programs, services, and retail sales, process transactions through computerized point-of-sale systems, and complete credits, refunds, and related administrative documentation.
  • The candidate will be responsible for receiving, recording, balancing daily deposits, and preparing cash floats.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing clerical support, including statistical tracking, meeting minute preparation, and programming data entry.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting team members with office duties and providing clerical support to business and operational units.
  • The candidate will be responsible for monitoring facility access and admissions while maintaining accurate statistical and filing systems.
  • The candidate will be responsible for leading or supporting facility emergency response and inclement weather procedures, including evacuations and service interruption communications.
  • The candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of office equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have completed Grade 12 or an equivalent educational qualification.
  • The candidate must possess at least six continuous months of experience gained within the past five years in a public-facing reception counter environment involving cash handling and computerized registration processing in a fast-paced customer service setting.
  • The candidate must possess at least three months of general office administrative experience gained within the past five years.
  • The candidate should have experience working in a recreation centre environment.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and possess experience using computerized registration management systems.
  • The candidate should have experience using recreation registration software.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional information

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate will not be required to perform physically demanding duties.
  • The candidate must remain at the front reception area while working independently.
  • The candidate will work in a front-line position that involves regular interaction with the public from a reception desk located near the entrance to services.
