Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting the coordination of park and civic facility construction and renovation projects through planning, design, procurement, and construction phases.
- The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of consultants, contractors, user groups, and internal stakeholders to support project delivery objectives.
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, reports, budgets, tender documents, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
- The candidate will be responsible for reviewing plans, specifications, contracts, and related documents for compliance with project requirements and municipal standards.
- The candidate will conduct site visits and field inspections to support quality control, project progress monitoring, and compliance with safety and contractual requirements.
- The candidate will assist in tracking project documentation, invoices, change documentation, and project records.
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting communication and coordination among project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must possess a Diploma in Landscape Architecture, Building Technology, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
- The candidate must have related experience supporting or coordinating construction, infrastructure, facility, or civic projects.
- The candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of construction methods, materials, building systems, and project coordination practices related to civic or infrastructure projects.
- The candidate must demonstrate understanding of architectural design, engineering practices, construction documentation, and applicable municipal regulations.
- The candidate must be familiar with the B.C. Building Code, zoning bylaws, and construction safety practices.
- The candidate must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- The candidate must demonstrate ability to review, interpret, and analyze plans, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.
- The candidate may be considered based on an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- The candidate must hold a valid Driverโs License for the Province of British Columbia with a satisfactory driving record.
- The candidate may have coursework or familiarity with project management principles or practices, which is considered an asset.
- The candidate should have experience coordinating or supporting major or complex construction or infrastructure projects.
- The candidate should have experience within a municipal, consulting, contractor-side, or public sector environment.
- The candidate may have exposure to parks, recreation, civic facilities, or community infrastructure projects, which would be considered an asset.
