Job Description
- Candidates working in this post must be heavily involved in strategic procurement planning to develop city-wide annual procurement plans and support departmental objectives.
- They’re also appointed to determine cost-effective procurement strategies. Responsible for assessing the complexity of the procurement initiatives and recommending best approaches.
- Candidates are also appointed to prepare RF documents in collaboration with the client departments and manage the end-to-end procurement process, including, procurement planning, and drafting.
- They’re also required for tasks like risk management posting, bidding, evaluating, approval, contract development and execution processes.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a university degree in a technical or business discipline in Business Administration, Public Administration, Supply Chain, Economics or Finance or a suitable equivalent to be eligible for this post.
- They must attain a minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience in a public-sector procurement environment. Municipal procurement experience is also required to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have a designation as a Certified Professional Public Buyer or a Certified Public Procurement Officer to be eligible for this post.
- They must acquire planning and organizational skills to recognize and schedule priorities and coordinate to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain demonstrated experience in comprehending information and working in a fast-paced way to be eligible for this post.
- They must be able to work in an environment where multi-tasking, prioritizing and reprioritizing regularly is required to be eligible for this post.
- They must possess a sense of process ownership and take accountability for actions to be eligible for this post.
