Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for defining the implementation vision and approach for major technology initiatives to deliver solution designs effectively and efficiently.
- The candidate will be responsible for demonstrating expert-level coding proficiency and writing high-quality production code to solve complex technical challenges when required.
- The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with architects on company-wide technical architecture, providing expertise on implementation approaches, feasibility, and operational impact.
- The candidate will be responsible for challenging and improving existing architecture decisions by identifying system limitations and proposing technical solutions.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing executive-level technical advisory on implementation challenges, including build vs. buy decisions, technology selection, and risk assessment.
- The candidate will be responsible for driving engineering practices and technical workflows adopted company-wide, shaping how the organization builds and operates technology while increasing engineering throughput.
- The candidate must improve engineering velocity and throughput across multiple teams by optimizing processes, enhancing tooling, and removing systemic blockers.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or possess equivalent practical experience.
- A Master’s or PhD degree is highly preferred for this role.
- The candidate should have 11–15 years of progressive software engineering experience, with strong expertise in large-scale system design, technical architecture, and cross-functional leadership across multiple technology domains, or equivalent experience.
- The candidate must have strong coding skills and proven experience delivering production-quality code to solve complex technical problems across different languages and frameworks.
- The candidate must have deep experience analyzing complex system interactions to identify optimal solution approaches.
- The candidate must have proven ability to make technical trade-off decisions while balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term scalability and organizational impact.
- The candidate must have experience defining implementation plans and execution approaches for complex, cross-organizational technology programs.
- The candidate should have familiarity collaborating with architects to translate architectural designs into actionable engineering roadmaps.
- The candidate must have recognized depth in one or more technical domains, along with the ability to assess system-wide implications.
- The candidate must have proven ability to make rapid, high-confidence judgements on when to engage directly versus delegate.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to influence product strategy and investment decisions through technical insights on feasibility, risk, and business impact.
- The candidate must have demonstrated experience with multi-cloud networking, Kubernetes, service mesh, network security, SDWAN, directory services, certificate services, and device management.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, Aviatrix, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Zscaler, Entra ID, SecureW2, Intune, and JAMF is preferred for this role.
