Job Description

  • A trainee role responsible for answering 911 and police calls.
  • The job requires employees to work their full scheduled hours through various shifts.
  • The work takes place in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia which serves as the job’s official location.

  • Operate multiple computer systems, radios and communication tools simultaneously.

  • Complete required classroom training, field coaching and proficiency evaluations.

Requirements

  • Mandatory participation in an information session.
  • RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status security clearance required and maintained throughout employment.
  • Ability to meet medical profile standards; subject to occupational health evaluations.
  • Willingness to work any shift, overtime and short notice as required.
    Can travel for training or court testimony.
  • The person is capable of working in confined environments while using a headset to operate multiple displays and endure noisy conditions for extended times.
  • The person can respond evenly to harsh news, keep calm and communicate.
  • The candidate needs either a secondary school diploma or an employer approved alternative credential.
  • The person can remember specific information, which includes addresses and phone numbers and licence plates, while performing two tasks simultaneously.
  • The person can determine task priorities while demonstrating accurate map reading skills.
  • The person can type at 40 words/minute. Required accuracy of above 95%.
  • English Essential or Bilingual
