KM Care Services, based in Winnipeg, MB R3J 1H9, is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Personal Support Worker – Home Support who are self-motivated and have good interpersonal skills. The selected candidate will be required to start work as soon as possible. The open positions pertain to Permanent employment or a full-time job. The shift timings include Overtime, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On-call, Flexible hours, and To be determined.

Job Description

  • The candidate must provide bedside and personal care.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with bathing and other personal hygiene activities.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in regular exercise, such as walking.
  • The candidate must feed or assist in feeding.
  • The candidate must launder clothing and household linens.
  • The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • The candidate must provide companionship.
  • The candidate must provide personal care.
  • The candidate must go shopping for food and household supplies.
  • The candidate must prepare and serve healthy meals.
  • The candidate will be responsible for cooking.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a First Aid Certificate and a Personal Support Worker Certificate.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in an optional accommodation, an adjustment to a job or work environment that enables an individual with a disability to perform their job duties.
  • The candidate should work in a staff accommodation that offers live-in accommodation when an employer provides a housing offer to its employees.
  • The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
  • The candidate must work in various locations to support employees stationed at different worksites.
  • The employee should be able to work in the employer’s or client’s home and can work at various site locations. The specific period of progression is determined by the annual review.

Experience with special needs children

  • The candidate must have prior experience caring for special needs children, specifically in providing mobility assistance.

Additional information

Security and safety

  • The candidate must successfully undergo a criminal record check and confidential security clearance, as well as obtain a basic security clearance.
