Job Description
- Rehabilitation Consultant role that supports people disable people to find employability outcomes
- Permanent, full time position with Canada Life
- Manages rehabilitation cases by assessing them and monitoring progress
- Home based role with regular community travel within Calgary and surrounding areas
- The role involves working with claimants, employers, doctors, and service providers
- Focused on functional improvement and early return to employability
Responsibilities
- Deliver customer focused rehabilitation and ways that will help them return to work
- Assess rehabilitation potential by reviewing files and stakeholder interviews
- Develop realistic, cost effective plans to help disabled clients
- Organize counseling, treatment, vocational, and community support services for clients
- Maintain regular follow up with claimants
- Engage with employers, policyholders, and treatment providers
- Oversee medical records and recommend what could help the client at workplace or otherwise
- Track rehabilitation activities and maintain electronic case documentation
- Demonstrate company values in daily work and while talking to stakeholders
Requirements
- University degree health and social sciences
- 3 years’ experience in insurance rehabilitation or rehabilitation services
Can communicate well - Experience working in fast paced, case driven environments
- Mental health experience considered an asset
- Ability to work from a home based office
- Valid driver’s license
- Access to a vehicle for community travel
- Eligibility to obtain Reliability Status Security Clearance (cost covered by employer)
