Job Description

  • The candidate must provide bedside and personal care.
  • The candidate must administer medications.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with bathing and other personal hygiene activities.
  • The candidate must assist in regular exercise, such as walking.
  • The candidate must change non-sterile dressings.
  • The candidate must feed or assist in feeding.
  • The candidate must launder clothing and household linens.
  • The candidate must be able to mend clothing and linens.
  • The candidate must provide companionship.
  • The candidate must provide personal care.
  • The candidate must prepare and serve healthy meals.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have completed a College or CEGEP program, or possess equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The ability to communicate in Mandarin and Cantonese is considered an asset.
  • The candidate must hold a CPR Certificate, a First Aid Certificate and a Personal Support Worker Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate must be punctual.
  • The candidate should be client-focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting independently and taking initiative.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
  • The candidate must be well-organized.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate must have patience.
  • The candidate must be honest.

Work setting

  • The candidate must work in multiple locations to support employees stationed at different worksites.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.

  • The candidate must have experience in caring for adults, elderly individuals, persons with Alzheimer’s disease, persons with physical disabilities, and the terminally ill.
