Job Description

  • The candidate will play an important role in providing administrative support to ensure timely access to MCFD services for children, youth, and families across the province.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing daily tasks that have a direct and meaningful impact on citizens of BC while supporting critical child protection services in a respectful, inclusive, and equitable manner.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have secondary school graduation or equivalent (e.g., GED), or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of one year of administrative, reception, or clerical experience in an office environment.
  • The candidate must have experience responding to general inquiries in person, by email, and over the phone.
  • The candidate must have experience using Microsoft 365 tools, including MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • The candidate may have post-secondary education (coursework, certificate, or diploma) in Office Management, Administration, or a related field.
  • The candidate must have more than two years of administrative, reception, or clerical experience in an office environment.
  • The candidate must have experience using ICM (Integrated Case Management software).
  • The candidate must have finance-related experience, including checking invoices for accuracy, completing routine payment documentation, and liaising with other divisions to resolve client payment issues, concerns, or discrepancies.
  • The candidate may be given preference if they self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Mรฉtis, or Inuit) and possess the required combination of education and experience.
  • The candidate must reside in British Columbia at the time of employment as per BC Public Service guidelines.
