Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for providing general support to trades staff by assisting with worksite preparation, transporting tools and materials, performing basic tasks under supervision, and ensuring work is carried out efficiently and safely.
- The candidate will be responsible for scheduling and performing preventive and planned maintenance and minor repairs to systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire and security, environment and energy management, Client Comfort Systems, fabric repairs, lock and door repairs, and lock replacement.
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting the operation and monitoring of HVAC systems.
- The candidate will be responsible for coordinating renovations from inception to completion, including communicating with clients regarding building concerns and needs.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing inspections and recommending required maintenance, repairs, and alterations for building fabric and systems.
- The candidate will be responsible for responding to emergencies such as fires, leaks, and equipment malfunctions.
- The candidate will be responsible for recording equipment, tools, and maintenance plans and providing status reports.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating service, maintenance, and client request data.
- The candidate will be responsible for planning and organizing work activities to ensure the service, maintenance, and building repair requirements of assigned buildings are met.
- The candidate will be responsible for operating a corporate vehicle and operating and maintaining hand and power tools.
- The candidate will be responsible for purchasing goods and services up to $1,000 and materials up to $500.
- The candidate will be responsible for participating as a department team member in supporting the operational needs of the Facility Services team.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by following safe work practices and procedures and reporting potential hazards.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing other duties as assigned within the scope of work.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a property management and/or trades environment.
- The candidate must hold a valid BC Driver’s License.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience supporting or assisting with HVAC system maintenance and repairs in a commercial or institutional environment, or completion of formal training in HVAC or a related mechanical program.
- Preference may be given to candidates with hands-on experience working with building systems and mechanical components.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience coordinating construction and maintenance projects.
