Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial data transactions for accuracy and compliance with financial legislation, policies, and procedures, and making corrections as required.
  • The candidate will be responsible for processing accounts payable and receivable documents and entering approved invoices into the Corporate Accounting system for payment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for reviewing payroll and daily time documentation to ensure it is completed correctly.
  • The candidate will be responsible for identifying issues and inconsistencies in documentation and advising the supervisor.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting with collating and reviewing documentation to ensure accurate reporting.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing support services and responding to inquiries from staff, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development and revision of training materials and delivering financial and administrative training as required.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing assigned duties in Incident Command System positions.
  • The candidate will be responsible for participating on committees and special projects as assigned.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting with corporate wildfire services as required.
  • The candidate will be responsible for adjusting and correcting financial entries as required.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have completed Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
  • The candidate must have experience working in an office setting and using computerized systems.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with training or experience in basic accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with a minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in processing accounts payable, bookkeeping, or basic accounting.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience using the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience in purchase card reconciliations.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience using CFS/CAS.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience in BC Wildfire.
  • The candidate must remain flexible to accommodate ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments, and corporate structures.
  • The candidate must stay current on emerging issues relevant to the position.
  • The candidate must complete all required in-house training and certification.
  • The candidate must participate in Incident Command System positions as assigned.
  • The candidate must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence, where applicable to the position.
  • The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.

Security and safety

  • The candidate will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check (CRC).

Work conditions

  • The candidate must travel by fixed-wing and rotary aircraft as required.
  • The candidate must work extended hours, including weekends, and remain available for standby duties with limited notice in accordance with the preparedness plan.
  • The candidate must travel and stay overnight in remote locations where accommodations may vary as required.
