Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are required to develop and implement strategic plans, policies, procedures, service standards, service level agreements, and strategic initiatives.
- Applicants at this post are also required to oversee Forestry’s emergency response and preparedness for extreme weather events and critical incidents affecting forestry assets working at this post.
- Candidates for this post are also appointed to evaluate operational effectiveness and efficiency, monitor performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence working at this post.
- Applicants at this post are required to ensure the timely delivery of quality customer service and resolutions to service requests, complaints, and inquiries, elected officials, or other City staff working at this post.
- They’re also required at this post to develop, prepare, and submit correspondence, reports, briefing notes, memoranda, and presentations for leadership working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have completed post-secondary degrees in fields like urban forestry, arboriculture, environmental science, or related disciplines to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates for this post must have completed 5-7 years of experience in urban forestry and arboricultural operations in a municipal setting.
- They must have a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience to be eligible for this post.
- Applicants for this post must have prior certification as a Certified Arborist and Tree Risk Assessment Qualification with the International Society of Arboriculture to be eligible for this post.
- Applicants for this post must be ISA Certified Arborist Municipal Specialists or ISA Board Certified Master Arborists to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Applicants for this post must hold a valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License or higher with an acceptable driving record to be eligible for this post.
