Job Description
- Application Security shapes how applications are designed, developed, and implemented across Canada Life.
- Help prepare, present, and follow up on various application security documents for the entire enterprise. Coordinate and manage all components of the application security process, including threat modeling, secure design, secure implementation and deployment of applications.
- As an Application Security Subject Matter Expert (SME), provide Application Security support, promote Application Security Awareness, Secure Coding Best Practices and Continuous Improvement through-out the business units.
- Minimum qualifications: 7+ years of experience in Application Security, 3+ in a leadership position, thorough knowledge of application security tools and services, experience with Cloud environments and other relevant training/certification is helpful.
Responsibilities
- The Application Security Program will be led by you and executed according to the application security roadmap that aligns with the overall business goals.
- As the manager of the team (AppSec Engineers / AppSec Analysts), you will mentor and support them.
- Incorporate security requirements throughout the Application Development Lifecycle by embedding security controls into the CI/CD process.
- You will be responsible for overseeing Threat Modeling, SAST, DAST, Penetration Testing, etc., on both Web Applications, Mobile Applications and API based Application Solutions.
- You will work closely with the development teams to promote secure coding practices by communicating guidance on how to implement these practices.
- Provide Application Security Training to all employees within the organization and act as a Subject Matter Expert in Application Security for the entire organization.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or related fields.
- 7+ years’ experience in software development as applied to application security or secure software development.
- Should have better communication skills.
