Job Description
- Candidates working at this post are appointed to walk the warehouse and perimeter up to 8 hours a day to monitor safety and security concerns.
- Candidates are also appointed to observe, detect, prevent, and apprehend shoplifters within our locations.
- They’re also appointed to detain and interview shoplifters when warranted.
- Candidates are appointed to observe, detect and report internal dishonesty to the Warehouse Manager and Regional Loss Prevention Manager for approval to investigate.
- Candidates working at this post are also required to report potential internal theft situations to the warehouse manager.
- Candidates are required to detect, identify and report possible shrink reduction opportunities within our operations to Management.
- They’re appointed to prepares reports for internal use and for potential prosecution.
- Candidates are appointed to maintains evidence collected and report files from investigations.
- Candidates will testifies in court concerning theft investigations working at this post.
- Candidates are appointed to follow and maintain knowledge of Costco procedures and applicable laws in performance of duties.
- They’re appointed to attend meetings and seminars regarding loss prevention working at this post.
- Candidates are appointed to assist in other areas of the warehouse working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED to be eligible for this post.
- They must attain a valid Loss Prevention License as required by the Province.
- Candidates must have strong understanding and knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada relating to theft and fraud offenses, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Trespass act, and Privacy acts.
- Candidates must have communication, observation, and problem-solving skills to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must be able to communicate in French to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates must attain the Loss Prevention experience and will be given preference over other candidates to be eligible for this post.
