Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to ensure that the aircraft is loaded within the limits for the taxi weight, zero fuel weight, take-off weight and estimated landing weight.
- They’re also appointed to ensure that the aircraft load is distributed so that the aircraft remains within the allowable weight and centre of gravity limits during all phases of flight.
- Candidates are required to ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods regulations and segregation of special loads.
- They’re appointed to ensure that position weight limitations or floor loading limitations.
- Candidates will also liaise with WestJet Cargo to coordinate cargo movements.
- They’ll also liaise with Flight Crew, Airport Ground Handlers and Team Leaders to resolve any conflict in loading requirements.
- Candidates are also appointed to prepare and distribute loading and unloading instruction reports.
- They’re required to prepare and send aircraft weight and centre of gravity trim reports.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a minimum 1-year airport or operations experience required
- They must have specific ground-handling knowledge and experience to be preferred for this post.
- They must hold a Restricted Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification following Industry Canada guidelines before the completion of training.
- Candidates must write and pass the company Load Control exam before completion of training.
- They must write and pass the Dangerous Goods exam before completion of training.
- Candidates must acquire dedicated knowledge of Sabre Applications, including FliteTrac Plot to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- They must have dedicated skills of minimum intermediate level of MS Office applications to be eligible for this post.
