Job description
- Candidates are able to exercise significant discretion and sensitivity.
- They will maintain a high degree of confidentiality with regard to legal matters.
- They will work independently while managing a broad range of files.
- They will be responsible for providing legal advice and opinions related to all facets of the City’s operations and administration.
- They are responsible for drafting and reviewing by-laws, agreements, policies and procedures.
Job requirement
- All the candidates must have Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
- They must have membership in good standing as a Lawyer Licensee with the Law Society of Ontario.
- They must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience practicing law in Ontario.
- They must have three (3) to Five (5) years practicing municipal law is an asset.
- They must have excellent interpersonal, communication, drafting and computer skills.
