Job Description

  • The candidate must operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations.
  • The candidate must verify dimensions of machined parts using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
  • The candidate must clean and maintain the workspace.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a Registered Apprenticeship Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must hold a Machinist Trade Certification.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work setting

  • The candidate must work in manufacturing industry to operate machinery, assemble products, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience with equipment and machinery, including cylinder grinders, engine lathes, honing machines, milling machines, tool grinders, and lathes.

Area of work experience

  • The candidate must have work experience in fabrication.

Repetitive machining operation experience

  • The candidate must have experience in repetitive machining operations, including turning, milling, honing, broaching, drilling, and grinding.

Equipment

  • The candidate must have experience operating equipment, including single-purpose production machines and automatic lathes.

  • The candidate must be bondable.
  • The candidate must be able to undergo a medical examination and provide a clear criminal record check.

Transportation/travel information

  • Public transportation is available for commuting to the work location.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • The candidate should have an eye for detail.
  • The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.

Own tools/equipment

  • The candidate must have their own steel-toed safety boots.
