Job Description

The candidate must assist with landscape construction.
The candidate must tie and secure plants.
The candidate must weed, prune, and trim trees and plants.
The candidate must cut the grass.
The candidate must rake and collect trash.
The candidate must remove garbage and litter.
The candidate must cart and spread topsoil and other materials.
The candidate must lay sod or seed.
The candidate must plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs.
The candidate must be able to maintain and repair equipment.
The candidate will be responsible for watering and maintaining plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
The candidate must operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment.
The candidate must perform tree removal.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in English.
The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
The candidate should be client-focused.

Work site environment

The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

The candidate should work in the landscape maintenance division, the art and vocation of keeping a landscape healthy, clean, safe, and attractive, typically in a garden, yard, park, institutional setting, or estate.
The candidate should work in a private residence, office, or work area only open to the public in the ordinary course of business if by individual invitation.
The candidate must work in a commercial setting that fosters a workforce of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

The candidate must have experience operating chain saws, pick-up trucks and small engine equipment.

Specialization or experience

The candidate must have experience or specialization in the green economy sector.

Security and safety

The candidate must undergo security and safety checks, including a criminal record check and a drug test.

Transportation/travel information

The employer will supply the vehicle for transportation and travel purposes.
The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
