Laboratory Assistant 

Telus has released a notice of hiring the eligible candidates for the post of laboratory assistant. Candidates who are eligible and willing to join this post can apply for this post. They’re appointed at this post to perform tests and diagnostic examinations on patients including but not limited to tonometry, audiograms, visual acuity, phlebotomy, urine collection, processing and accessioning working at this post. Job Description 

  • Candidates working at this post are required to conduct resting ECG and spirometry-based pulmonary tests.
  • They’re also required at this post to conduct 24hr blood pressure testing when required. 
  • Candidates at this post are required to conduct height & weight checks and provide documents diagnostic results in the chart and enter results manually as required. 
  • Candidates working at this post are also required to commit to continuous learning and becoming knowledgeable and proficient with new processes working at this post. 
  • They’re also appointed at this post to collaborate with medical, kinesiology and dietitian staff for thorough understanding of their specific needs. 
  • Candidates at this post are required to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, staff, suppliers and other healthcare providers in the community working at this post. 
  • Candidates working at this post are also appointed to collaborate with CSC and CCC staff in regards to client bookings, etc. 
  • They’re also required at this post to ensure accuracy of all communication with co-workers, suppliers and doctors’ offices. 
  • Candidates at this post are also appointed to interacts with testing laboratories as required

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must have minimum 1 year of practical work experience in phlebotomy and performing ECG’s to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates at this post must have strong knowledge of desktop computer systems and Microsoft Office to be eligible for this post. 
  • Applicants at this post must have exceptional organizational and customer service skills to get preferred for this post. 
  • Candidate with dedicated Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification along with CPR Certification to get preferred for this post. 

Work setting 

  • They must have dedicated knowledge and experience working with Med Access, our Electronic Medical Record System. 
  • Candidates with dedicated certification in audiometry and spirometry are  for this post.
