Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are required to ensure systems perform as designed and select the various types of refrigerants, oils and lubricants suitable for usage in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- They’re also appointed at this post to be required to purchase material and equipment for installation projects and deal directly with suppliers and manufacturers in the ordering and purchasing of parts.
- Applicants for this post are also required to engage in ongoing learning to keep up to date with health and safety, gas codes, TSSA and changes to the heating and air conditioning industry.
- Applicants are also required to utilize a variety of tools or equipment and are responsible for their maintenance.
- They’re appointed at this post to travel to various work locations working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must possess and be able to maintain a valid Certificate of Qualification as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic to be eligible for this post.
- Applicants at this post must have prior experience in the use, calibration and testing of instruments, gauges and electro-mechanical and pneumatic controls used in HVAC systems working at this post.
- Candidates must have prior experience in electric arc and oxy-acetylene cutting and welding, brazing and soldering to be eligible for this post.
- They must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario, Class “G” Driver’s License to be considered as an asset for this post.
- They must qualify for the City’s equipment operating permits and requirements to be eligible for this post.
- They must also possess a G1 Gas Fitter certification to get preferred for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates are also required to use electric arc and oxy-acetylene welding and cutting equipment, including brazing and soldering working at this post.
- Applicants at this are required to perform a variety of skilled work not requiring the service of other licensed trades.
