Job Description

The candidate will assist in the management of a major retail operation with sales exceeding $8 million.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, supervising staff, promoting teamwork, and maintaining positive staff morale.
The candidate will assist in controlling stock levels and stock variances while ensuring acceptable levels of security for staff and physical assets within the store.
The candidate will contribute to improving the Branch image by supporting all Branch policies.
The candidate will be involved in training staff, scheduling assignments, participating in all store duties, and supporting labour relations matters as required.

Job Requirements

The candidate must hold a secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate.
The candidate must have a minimum of six months of recent experience in a supervisory role within a retail or hospitality environment.
The candidate must have recent (within five years) experience in fostering a customer-centric selling culture and driving sales.
The candidate must have recent (within five years) experience in store visual presentation.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience managing environments with annual sales exceeding $1 million.
Candidates with experience hiring, training, and coaching employees may be preferred.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience managing a team of multiple employees per shift.
The candidate must successfully complete Serving It Right™ certification prior to confirmation of any appointment for this position.

The successful candidate must undergo a criminal record check.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

The candidate must be able to lift liquor cases up to 50 lbs. to varying heights.
The candidate must be able to stand at a cash register for extended periods of time as part of the role.
The candidate should be able to perform warehouse duties involving frequent bending and standing throughout the shift.
