Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for cutting horticultural crops.
- The candidate must harvest vegetables by hand.
- The candidate will be responsible for weeding.
- The candidate must write daily basic progress reports.
- The candidate must assist in the pruning of trees, shrubs, and plants.
- The candidate must mix and prepare soils.
- The candidate must plant bulbs and seeds.
- The candidate must pot and re-pot plants.
- The candidate must be able to transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings.
- The candidate must dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs.
- The candidate will be responsible for watering and maintaining plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
- The candidate must clean the work area.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
- The candidate must be capable of lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs) or more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
- The candidate should be client focused.
- The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
- The candidate should be reliable.
- The candidate should be a good team player.
Work site environment
- The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
- The work environment is smoke-free.
Work setting
- The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
Experience and specialization
Type of product
- Products include coniferous trees, deciduous trees, ferns, native plants, berry bushes, fruit trees, ornamental trees, shrubs, hedges, and vegetables.
Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate must have experience operating chainsaws, garden tractors, irrigation pumps and equipment, and mechanical cultivators.
