Job Description
- The candidate will operate and maintain delivery vehicles, including vans and 5-ton rated trucks equipped with cargo boxes and power tailgates, to deliver and collect mail according to established routes and schedules.
- The candidate will perform daily and weekly safety inspections on vehicles and operating equipment.
- The candidate will verify that mail volumes and classifications are accurately recorded on mail tickets and sign off on received mail.
- The candidate will provide customer service at mail pickup sites by responding to customer inquiries and requests.
- The candidate will accurately classify and sort letters, flats, packages, and parcels for further processing using mailing machines, automated shipping systems, or manual waybills and manifests.
- The candidate will prepare and package various materials for distribution in accordance with established guidelines and instructions.
- The candidate will stack and shrink-wrap pallets for loading onto delivery vehicles and unload pallets and metal cages upon arrival.
- The candidate will receive branch- or customer-supplied materials and transport them to designated storage or inventory areas.
- The candidate will operate production equipment, including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, letter openers, and floor scales.
- The candidate will prepare documents for scanning by removing materials from file backers and eliminating staples, paper clips, and post-it notes.
- The candidate will operate high-speed scanners to process customer documents and ensure equipment is configured according to specifications, including the calibration of document sensors, document feeders, and post-scan imprinters.
- The candidate will verify that documents have been scanned or faxed correctly, validate scanned data using specialized data verification software, make necessary corrections to incorrectly scanned data, and ensure the security of scanned data and documents within the scanning services area.
- The candidate will batch data and documents by document type and file them according to customer requirements while ensuring the accuracy of information returned to customers.
- The candidate will file BC Mail Plus documents in accordance with ARCS and ORCS procedures and prepare records for offsite storage.
- The candidate will organize materials and supplies within the production facility and perform general housekeeping duties.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have successfully completed Grade 12 or hold an equivalent credential.
- The candidate must possess a valid Class 5 driverโs license and maintain an excellent driving record.
- The candidate must have experience providing customer service.
- The candidate must have experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, spreadsheet creation, and the use of standard computer applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- The candidate must have experience operating hand and power pallet jacks, electric forklifts, delivery vehicles, mailing machines, and electronic scales.
- The candidate must have experience using personal computers, multifunctional devices, handheld scanners, and high-speed production scanners.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.
