Job Description
- The candidate must work directly with adults under community supervision and support them in addressing their risks and personal needs.
- The candidate will be required to assist individuals in making positive changes in their behaviour and lifestyle.

- The candidate will be responsible for building connections with courts, clients, and community partners.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree from a Canadian designated educational institution.
- The candidate will be required to complete a two-year diploma and demonstrate at least 3 years of full-time related experience working with people with complex social, health, or legal needs.
- The candidate must complete sixty (60) post-secondary credits toward a diploma and have 3 years of full-time related experience working with people with complex social, health, or legal needs.
- The candidate must confirm that post-secondary education obtained outside Canada has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services and must provide a Comprehensive Report by the closing date of the posting to be considered.
- The candidate must successfully complete the Adult Probation Officer pre-requisite course (CORR1000).
- The candidate must hold a valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license without restrictions.
- The candidate must possess a valid Canadian driver’s license equivalent to a Class 5 BC license.
- The candidate with a valid BC Class 7 driver’s license may be considered for the position.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to treating individuals with dignity, respect, and cultural awareness.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.

Security and safety
- The candidate must complete a Criminal Record Review Act (CRRA) Check and an Enhanced Security Screening as a condition of employment.
- The candidate will be required to undergo fingerprint screening by the RCMP or municipal police and successfully clear JUSTIN and CORNET provincial database checks.
Work conditions
- The candidate must be willing to work with adult clients who present multiple legal, health, social, and/or mental health challenges.
- The candidate will be required to submit a driver’s abstract covering the last five-year period.
- The candidate must participate in and successfully complete all position-related training requirements.
- The candidate may require adjustments to working hours while completing basic training if employed part-time.
- The candidate must be willing to travel overnight to remote locations as required.
